In Part 2 of this three-part Black Dahlia deep dive, Heather goes back to her original 2019 psychic reading on the murder of Elizabeth Short and puts it under the microscope. What did she get right? Seven years after conducting her original 2019 reading on the murder of Elizabeth Short, Heather goes back through it piece by piece and compares what she saw then with the historical record. What was accurate? What was wrong? What could have come from information she already knew? And what becomes considerably stranger once you start digging into the people who actually surrounded Elizabeth Short?
That investigation leads to Marvin Margulies, a former boyfriend of Elizabeth who has largely existed on the edges of the Black Dahlia story but has recently resurfaced as a compelling person of interest. His connection to Elizabeth raises uncomfortable parallels with Heather’s original reading, particularly the repeated appearance of a younger man Elizabeth trusted and may have been romantically involved with.
But Margulies is only one piece.
Heather follows the reading through its references to multiple people, Hollywood connections, another woman, medical knowledge, and the persistent impression that Elizabeth’s murder may not have been the work of a single person. One of the strangest possibilities from the original reading also returns: that the person responsible for Elizabeth’s death may not have been the same person who later mutilated and disposed of her body.
This isn’t an attempt to declare that a seven-year-old psychic reading solved the Black Dahlia murder. Quite the opposite. Heather looks just as closely at the misses, contradictions, and possible contamination as she does the apparent hits.
Because once you strip away what doesn’t work, the details that remain become much harder to ignore.
And by the end of Part 2, the investigation is about to move beyond the usual Black Dahlia suspects entirely.
